In the next few weeks you will be receiving information about the upcoming 5th grade picnic. This years picnic, "The Amazing Race to Middle School," will take place at Wendtwoods Park on May 29th from 10-2. Please be on the lookout for the permission slip coming home on May 16. We have lots of fun activities planned and are really looking forward to celebrating the hard work that our 5th graders have put into these elementary years. In order to make this event a success we need your help, please visit the following sign up genius link, https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0D4EA5AC2EA1FE3-5thgrade. Its going to be one awesome celebration and of course parents are welcome to attend so mark your calendars! As a reminder, per TISD safety guidelines, only designated chaperones are allowed to be responsible for students other than their own.
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, our 5th graders will travel to Minute Maid Park for their field trip. Go Astros!
Here are a few helpful reminders in preparing your child.
Abrams: pink, Budd: purple, Jackson: royal blue, and McCann: mint
Wear comfortable shoes for walking (no heels on the field).
Bring a drink and be sure it in a disposable container.
If you ordered a lunch from the cafeteria, your child will pick it up in the morning before we leave.
*Parking Maps have been sent home with your child last week, if not found let me know and I’ll send
another one on Monday.
We’ll need to walk in together as a TCES group.
*Parents might go through a metal detector, so please leave any item that might prevent you from touring with us at home.
Hello 5th Grade Parents!
I just wanted to give you a heads up regarding the letter that went home in THIS Wednesday's folder. I will be doing a 5th grade slideshow for their 5th grade celebration ceremony the last week of school. I am asking that EVERY 5th grade student sends in a current picture and a baby pic (around ages 0-3 years). The images need to be in a JPEG format through e-mail. If you can't e-mail them, please send in the originals, and I can scan them in for you! The deadline for photos is May 11th, which is NEXT Friday.
Also, since this is the group of kids that opened the school in 2012 when they were in Kinder, I am asking those students that opened our school in Kinder to send in their KINDER yearbook photo or a photo of them starting Kinder. We will be doing something with those photos as well!
Please e-mail all of the pictures to BOTH of these addresses to make sure that I receive them: firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com. I am having issues with the school servers blocking things, and I want to make sure that I receive them. I will ALWAYS reply back stating that I have received them, so if you don't hear back, feel free to call me at the school EXT 4675.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
