Charles Barnhouse
5th Grade Math & Science Teacher
Welcome to 5th grade
The 2021-2022 school year is my 25th year of teaching and my 7th year in Tomball ISD. I started my teaching career in Spring Branch ISD in 1997 at Buffalo Creek Elementary. After 11 years in Spring Branch ISD I transferred to Spring ISD where I taught for 7 years. I worked at Meyer Elementary and at Winship Elementary while in Spring ISD. I have had a variety of teaching assignments in my career including Kindergarten, K/1 Multi-age, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, Special Education pull-out support, and Structured Learning.
In October 2021, my wife and I will celebrate our 22nd anniversary. We have two children; a 21 year old - Nicholas & an 18 year old - Jaxson. My wife retired from education in July 2021 after 20 years teaching and coaching at the high school level.
My family enjoys taking trips when we can. We also enjoy going to the movies.

Birthday Celebrations
Want to celebrate your child's birthday at school? Please follow the Tomball ISD Guidlines below -
To ensure the safety of all students, birthday treats must be store bought and individually packaged by the store. For your convenience, the school cafeteria will have ice cream treats available for purchase, as well. If you would like to purchase items from the cafeteria, please contact your child’s teacher ASAP so we can help make arrangements for this purchase prior to arriving at the cafeteria.
Parents...if you plan on volunteering on our campus as a WATCH D.O.G., library or classroom helper, or in any other way you must complete the annual Volunteer Application that can be found by clicking here. Once your application has been processed, a list is sent to our receptionist on a weekly basis. You may check with our receptionist to see if your application has been processed successfully for you to be able to volunteer on our campus. The application process can take up to two weeks to be processed, so please make sure this is done several weeks prior to the day you plan on volunteering on campus.
