Lisa Soetaert

3rd Grade Math/Science

Welcome back! This year will definitely be a little bit different, but I am excited to get this year started.  This will be my thirteenth year teaching, second year at Timber Creek, having taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. A Philadelphia native, I have spent the majority of my life in the Houston area, graduating from Sam Houston State University.

A few of my favorite things include traveling, working in my garden, relaxing with a good book, catching a beautiful sunrise/sunset, and spending time with my family! I have been married to my husband, Ted, for 25 years, and we have two amazing kids--Megan and Robby. My daughter is off to Penn State to start her Masters Program, and my son is a sophomore studying Computer Science at UT Dallas(virtually).

I am looking forward to working with you and your child. We are going to have a wonderful year! Please feel free to contact me anytime with any questions or concerns.

Picture Day order form

Picture day is November 11!! Please click on the above link to pay for your pictures.  We will have more information regarding a time frame that day when you can bring your child up to the school to get their picture taken!!

Virtual Room Moms!!

I am in need of TWO Room Parents this year. The PTO is requesting each class (Virtual and F2F) have TWO room parents.  Room Parent duties will help with communication between the teacher and class parents. They will help organize class parties, teachers gifts, etc. While parents are not allowed on campus at this time, restrictions may be lifted throughout the year, and room parents will need to be in place if that occurs.  If you are interested, please send your name, email and phone number to me and I will forward to Samantha Herington our PTO Vice President.  Thanks!!

Drive by and say hi
On the morning of September 3rd, I would love to wave HI to my new students.  If possible, please drive through the car rider lane and wave HI to me between 10-10:30 at the “Pop By and Wave HI'' parade at school.  This event is completely optional.  I will be social distancing from my co-workers (in the grass along the car lane) to provide enough space for each of us to share a BIG SMILE with our new students.  I will have a sign with my name on it and will be waving as you go by.

That afternoon I will be hosting a Virtual Meet the Teacher video conference from 4:35 - 5:05 pm. If you did not receive an email from me with the link to join Meet The Teacher. Please let me know.
It's going to be a fantastic year!
