Just a few reminders about the field trip
  • It's Thursday, May 25
  • We leave on the bus at 9:00 AM
  • We are headed to the Sam Houston Memorial and Museum in Huntsville.
  • The students need to bring a lunch in a plastic bag. NO LUNCH BOXES PLEASE! This makes for an easy clean-up to just throw away the trash quickly. Lunch boxes are frequently lost. Do not send food/snacks that will melt. We will have ice chests, but there is still a chance of heat getting to the food rather quickly.
  • Bring a water bottle. This needs to be a water bottle with a twist top. Do not bring a thermos, pop-top lid water bottle, or Yeti.

Math Carnival!
Next week students will be spending all week creating a math carnival game independently or with a partner. They may bring any items from home to create their math game in CLASS. Students may use items from home or purchase them at a dollar store. We will not be able to provide supplies for all of the students. Regular classroom materials will be provided. The carnival will take place in the 4th grade pod area for the entire grade level on Tuesday, May 30. The students will choose one of the following math skills/concepts to create their game: place value, decimals, multiplication/division, fractions, elapsed time, area/perimeter, geometry, measurement, dot plots/stem and leaf, or input/output tables. The students may bring prizes to accompany their games if they wish to do so.
Let's Have Fun!!!

Monday, May 8 is the Math STAAR Test. I am so proud of each and every one of these children. They have gone above and beyond what I have expected from them. I've given each student an individualized letter that I would like to have them open and read on Sunday at 6:00 P.M. It is a letter of encouragement and to let them know just how proud I am of each and every one of them. They are more than just a test. I love each one of them. I love their successes and their mistakes. We learn from our mistakes. We grow from our mistakes.
They make me laugh, cry, cringe, giggle, feel loved and appreciated, and I will miss them more than they will ever know. I had better receive a high school graduation invitation from each one :) Thank-you parents for all you do. You're the reason your child is successful.
Thank-you for sharing them with me this year.

I am beyond thankful for all of my TCES kiddos and their families.
The flowers that I was given yesterday brought such sunshine to my day.
Today I was given so many sweet gift cards, drinks, and small gifts. I thank you
all so much for sharing your lives and trust me with your child each day.
