About Mrs. Budd

Welcome to 5th Grade!  My name is Kristi Budd and I am so excited as I enter my fourth year at Timber Creek Elementary School.  For the last three years you may have seen me around campus as a Special Education Instructional Paraprofessional but this year is even more special as I will be teaching 5th Grade Science and Social Studies with a wonderful team of teachers.

In 2003, I graduated from Redlands East Valley High School in Redlands, California and continued to graduate from California State University San Bernardino in 2009 with my Bachelors in Math.  After being able to stay home and a move to Texas I pursued my teaching certification.  Math has always been a passion of mine and combining it with the wonderful students at Timber Creek is a dream that I have been looking forward to the last couple of years.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband, Jason and we have a handsome son, Jackson.  I also like to shop, cook and do crafty things.

I am looking forward to an exciting year, working with you and your wonderful student!

CPJH Field Trip on 5/16

Mr. Scott has invited the 5th graders to come visit the Jr. High campus next Tuesday the 16th from 9:00 - 11:30. He will take us all on a tour of the school and end with a pep-rally to get them excited for next year.

A form went home today for permission to attend to trip. On the form there was a small error that says 4/16/17 and it should say 5/16/17. Please sign and return this form by Monday. Thank you!

5th Celebration Slide Show

Good Afternoon 5th Grade Parents!

I just wanted to give you a heads up regarding the letter that will be coming home in THIS Wednesday's folder. I will be doing a 5th grade slideshow again this year for their 5th grade celebration ceremony. I am asking that EVERY 5th grade student sends in a current picture and a baby pic (around ages 0-3 years). The images need to be in a JPEG format through e-mail. If you can't e-mail them, please send in the originals, and I can scan them in for you! The deadline on the letter is THIS Friday, May 12th, but due to getting the slideshow timed, the latest I will take them is Monday, May 15th.

Please e-mail the pictures to BOTH of these addresses to make sure that I receive them: britneyculver@tomballisd.net and britney.culver@yahoo.com. I am having issues with the school servers blocking things, and I want to make sure that I receive them. I will ALWAYS reply back stating that I have received them, so if you don't hear back, feel free to call me at the school EXT 4675.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks!

"Take Me Out To The Ball Game"

In a few weeks, on May 25th, there will be the Annual 5th Grade Picnic.  This is a big privilege for the 5th graders to celebrate their last days at Timber Creek.  As a reminder for the students to stay on their best behavior, we are initiating a new incentive for the next 10 school days.  To go along with baseball season, students can earn a home run by exhibiting exceptional behavior. However, if a student is off task they will have 3 “strikes” where they can lose the privilege to attend the picnic.  We appreciate your support in making their final days at Timber Creek great for all.

Thank you!!

CPJH Parent Social on 4/27!

The Creekside Park Junior High PTO is hosting a New Parent Social for parents of current 5th graders from all three elementary schools in Creekside Park, Thursday 4/27 from 9:30 to 11:30am.

"Gather, get to know and get comfortable in your new Jr High. Here is a chance to see CPJH; Principal Scott will be available at 10am to give a short tour of the school and 6th grade area. Current CPJH PTO members will be on hand to answer questions parents may have. ALL new families of incoming 6th graders are welcomed!"

Picture Instructions

All students who were present to take Spring Pictures a few weeks ago were given sheets of pictures in their Wednesday Folders yesterday.  It is very important that you go through the pictures and decide which sheets you would like to keep and send the envelope back with the remaining sheets and payment for those sheets that you would like to keep.  The deadline for return is May 12th, but I would like to ask that the students bring them back ASAP so that we can have a count done early.  Thank you so much for your cooperation and I can't wait to see everyone at Dash and Bash on Friday!

Good Afternoon 5th Grade!

We have finally made the announcement that we will be headed to Astro's Stadium for our field trip on Monday, April 17th.  The kids are going to have a blast!  More information will be coming home in the Wednesday Folders this week.
We will also be sending this flyer in the Wednesday Folders as well but we wanted to give enough time to bring in a White T-Shirt by Friday, April 7th as we will be tie dying them the following week to be used for 3 events.

Thank you so much for your support!

Message from PTO RE: Dash and Bash Donations

5th Grade Parents:

  • We’re running very short on donations for our 5th grade-level basket (only 5 signups thus far!)! Remember, the money we raise from our silent auction helps pay for field trips, educational equipment, and  PTO support for the 5th grade picnic
  • Please signup here to donate items to go in the basket: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090548aaa82ba4fd0-dash
  • The new deadline is 3/30!

Reminder!

Tomorrow is the last day to donate items towards the 5th grade Dash and Bash Basket for auction.  Hope everyone has a wonderful Spring Break!

TCES March Madness- Attendance Incentive

We are nearing Spring Break, when our attendance tends to fall. Every child who is at school all day, every day from March 1- March 31, will earn a 30 minute open gym pass with Coach Kruppa or a 30 minute technology “bring your own device” pass dependent upon student interest. In order for a child to earn this incentive they need to be on time for school every day, with no early check outs. Thankful for our families and their help in making this goal possible to achieve!

Good Evening 5th Grade Family

Today we have started an Industrial Revolution Tic Tac Toe Project that will be due Monday, March 6th.  I have attached the instructions and rubric for the project.  This is a Major Grade for Social Studies for this 9 weeks.  The students were very excited with their freedom of choice with with project.  I will be posting in Google Classroom some websites that will be beneficial for the student to complete parts of the project.  Lastly, I would like to note that it is not necessary for students to work on this at home but if students do not utilize their time that they are given in class, they may have to complete parts of the project at home. Have a wonderful weekend!

5th Dash & Bash

Hello 5th Grade Parents!  This week in Wednesday Folders you will be receiving information about how you can help 5th Grade make the best auction basket at TCES. I have attached an additional form for your reference.  Thank you so much for your support and have a wonderful evening!

Class Holiday Party Info!

Hi Parents!  I wanted to let you know that an invite for the class holiday party will be coming home in the folders today!  I've also attached it for your reference.  All of 5th grade will have the same theme and activities for the parties.

The party is:

Friday, December 16th @ 10am

We will NOT have a SignUp Genius for the party and are instead asking for each child to send in $10 to cover the cost.  We will likely serve donuts, fruit, & drinks.  There will be a fun exchange game for the kids and those prizes/gifts will be covered too by the money you send in.

The theme is Ugly Sweater and we'd love for your child to participate.  There's a prize for the winning UGLY sweater!  If we raise enough money, we have a fun selfie station we hope to open for pictures!

If you could send in the $10 in a envelope marked "Budd Room Mom - Holiday Party" by this Friday, December 9th, I would greatly appreciate it.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!
