Brittany Huggins

3rd Grade ELA/SS

Welcome to 3rd Grade. I am thrilled to be back at Timber Creek this year. I grew up in the Austin area and am a graduate from Texas Tech University. This will be my 7th year teaching. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade throughout these years. Last year I taught 4th grade at Timber Creek, but I am very excited about joining the 3rd grade team this year.

My family is very important to me and spending time with them is what I enjoy most. My husbands name is Kevin and I have a 1 year old daughter named Brooklynn. We also have two labs that love swimming and hunting. Some of my favorite things are the color purple, sports, and eating pizza.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child. We are going to have a wonderful year. Please feel free to contact me anytime with any questions or concerns.

A Few Reminders

Below are a couple of reminders for the week:
1. Class Picture Day is tomorrow, November 15th. Please send in money if you would like to purchase one.
2. Field Trip Letter: Your child has a field trip letter in their homework folder. Please make sure to sign and return it by Friday, November 18th.
3. Spelling Bee: If your child is participating in the class spelling bee, we will have it this Wednesday, November 16th. Please make sure your child is practicing their words. They will be tested verbally.
4. College Day: On Wednesday, please have your child wear their favorite college team shirt to celebrate college week.

Social Studies Activity

In case your child lost their sheet of paper for the Social Studies Activity on Human Processes, here it is again. :) Please let me know if you have you any questions.
Dear Parents,
In celebration of our Social Studies topic on Human Processes, students are to use their imaginations to turn trash into treasure. Have your child tap into their creativity by making something different and useful from dry trash items. For example, an old glass jar can be decorated and used as a pencil holder and a milk jug can be transformed into a planter. Students may use more than one trash item for their project. Please have your child bring their treasure to school the week of November 7-11th, 2016. Students will need to explain to the class how he/she came up with the idea for their project and what treasure they made from their trash.
Have Fun!!!!!!

November Attendance Incentive (From Mrs. Thompson)

Attendance Matters

November Attendance Incentive

We are entering the holiday season, when our attendance tends to fall. We need every family to help us ensure that our campus maintains our attendance goal of at or above 98%.

Beginning tomorrow, we will start our fall attendance incentive. Every child who is at school all day, every day from November 2 through November 30, will earn a 30 minute open gym pass with Coach Kruppa or a 30 minute technology “bring your own device” pass dependent upon student interest.  In order for a child to earn this incentive they need to be on time for school every day, with no early check-outs.

Thankful for our families and their help in making this goal possible to achieve!

Red Ribbon Week October 24-28th

Monday - "Hugs, Not Drugs!" Bring your favorite stuffed animal to school. Also we are asking each family to bring in a stuffed teddy bear with the original tag attached to be delivered to the Tomball Police Department, The Montgomery Women's Shelter and the Woodlands Fire Department. Thank you in advance for your participation.
Tuesday - "I Mustache You Not To Bully or Do Drugs- Hats off to Standing Up!" Students may wear a crazy hat and a mustache.
Wednesday - "Team Up Against Drugs and Bullying" Students may wear their favorite team shirt.
Thursday - "Don't Let Drugs Steal Your Dreams"  Students may wear pajamas to school. Please make sure they follow the school dress code.
Friday - "Hocus Pocus, Stay in Focus - Focus on your Future!" Students may wear an outfit that shows what they want to be when they grow up. Please make sure it follows the school dress code.
I am looking forward to a great week!!!!!
